Zoom Meeting: The Photographer’s A.I. Advantage presented by Joe Edelman

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly becoming part of everyday life, yet many photographers are unsure what it really means for their craft. Is AI a threat to creativity, or simply another tool photographers can use to work smarter and learn faster?

For North Haven Camera Club’s October 13 presentation, our guest speaker will be award-winning photographer and educator Joe Edelman. Joe will demonstrate how photographers can use AI as a practical assistant for research, planning, problem solving, and evaluating their images. Rather than replacing creativity, AI can help photographers think more clearly, explore new ideas, and improve their photography faster. This presentation is about using AI as a practical tool to help photographers become more thoughtful, more prepared, and more creative.

Joe’s mission has been to help photographers develop a solid understanding of the “HOWS and WHYS” behind making consistently great photographs. By way of example, since March 2020, when the pandemic began, Joe has delivered over 400 virtual presentations to photographers in 4 countries across three continents.

The Professional Photographers of America (PPA) awarded Joe the Photographic Craftsman Degree (Cr.Photog.), indicating that he has met the PPA’s standards of excellence as a speaker, author, and mentor.

In this session, participants will learn how to:

  • Use AI as a powerful photography learning resource
  • Use AI to brainstorm and develop creative photography ideas
  • Use AI to plan shoots and lighting setups
  • Use AI to research gear and equipment decisions
  • Use AI to evaluate photographs and identify improvements
  • Use AI to explore alternate creative directions for their images

Whether you are curious, skeptical, or already experimenting with AI tools, this presentation will give you practical ways to take advantage of this powerful technology while keeping your photography authentic and uniquely your own.
At the end of the presentation, a digital download link of notes will be made available for 72 hours. It also includes links to additional learning information and any equipment discussed during the presentation.

This will be an online meeting and guests are welcome. welcome. Drop us an email to let us know you’d like the Zoom link, or visit our Membership page for more information on how to join the club.
