It’s the Little Things: Field Macro Photography with OM SYSTEM
Chris McGinnis will bring you into the often-overlooked tiny world of insects and spiders through field macro photography. Field macro isn’t just about magnifying tiny creatures to larger-than-life sizes. It’s about perspective, emotion, moments, and intrigue. It’s one thing to make pretty pictures under controlled conditions, but it’s a whole different experience when you’re in the field. Attendees will be introduced to the fundamentals of macro photography and explore methods for techniques to find subjects, approach shots, and make photos that will make people say ‘wow!’
Chris will show his ideal gear, explain how to set yourself up for success in the field, share his baseline camera settings, and demonstrate how he uses a lightweight macro rig to capture razor sharp, high-magnification images of live subjects—without a tripod!
This program is designed to be both inspirational and educational. While it’s important to understand the technical side of macro, you’ll also get bite-sized takeaways that you can put to use when you’re in the field. Andy Warhol said “You need to let the little things that would ordinarily bore you suddenly thrill you.” This session will show you how.
