April 13, 2019
10:00 am to 4 pm
Whitney Center – Bakka Room
This class is aimed at students who are familiar with Lightroom and want to go beyond basic importing and developing of images and improve or refresh their skills.  Many advanced editing techniques will be covered and other topics will include file organization and management, import and export preferences and customizing lightroom by setting up copyright information, creating watermarks and identity plates and more.  In addition, we will cover backing up catalogs and images, and much, much more.  We will cover more “creative” and “advanced” effects in this class as well as how to download and install presets and creating custom, unique presets.
The class will also cover the other modules in Lightroom and students will learn how simple it is to create a photo book quickly and easily – all within Lightroom, how to prepare a slideshow and how to use the print module including using templates for printing images and creating a fine-art look. Students should have a basic knowledge of how to import their images into Lightroom as well as some familiarity with the Develop module when signing up for this class. As we believe students learn best by participating and doing, this will be a hands-on class. Lightroom has evolved to the point where it’s possible to do most, if not all, editing without having to use other photo editing programs. This course will be taught using Lightroom Classic CC. Students will be shown how to take advantage of many of the new tools and editing options that are now available.  We hope you can join us!
Betty Wiley is an award-winning free-lance photographer who resides on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.  Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, she has lived in the northeast for over 35 years.  She leads photography and post-processing workshops on Cape Cod and throughout New England and is well known for her skill in the darkroom.   Betty has received many accolades for her workshops.  She is a contributing photographer for various publications including Cape Cod magazine, Chatham magazine and South Shore Living to name a few and many of her images have appeared on the covers of those magazines.   While she specializes in nature and landscape photography, she also operates a small portrait studio in her home.   She shoots mainly with Canon gear, though she has recently become a fan of the new Fuji mirror-less cameras.  Her digital tool kit includes Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and a large number of creative plug-ins, including NIK (now Google), Topaz, MacPhun and Perfectly Clear to name a few.
